On Worldwide Poverty

On Worldwide Poverty

World leaders must prioritize the need to conquer food security for the indigent for it means providing the legitimate direction based on the merits of governmental policies that will uniquely insulate the rights and privileges of the underprivileged. Foremost of which is the preservation of human dignity.

Does Islam Promote Violence?

My points:

1. Islam arrived  to bring peace to the chaotic pre-Islamic period in Mecca, where idolatry and immorality were the main characteristics embraced by the idol worshippers during that period. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) received the message of Allah (swt) through Angel Jibraeel at the cave of Hira in the mountain of Jabal an-Nour.

Angel Jibraeel commanded the Prophet to recite the the first lines of chapter 96 of the Holy Quran and this experience was narrated at Chapter 53, verses 4-9, which reads as follows:

“It is no less than inspiration sent down to him:
He was taught by one Mighty in Power,
Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form);
While he was in the highest part of the horizon:
Then he approached and came closer,
And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer;”

2. The Prophet Muhammad did not use the sword to spread the message of Islam to the people of Mecca.  But instead of accepting the revelation of the Holy Quran, the pre-Islamic Meccans, who refused to change their immoral lifestyle plotted to murder the Prophet and his companions. If there were wars related to the task placed on him by dear Allah (swt), it was for life-preservation. Those wars were for self-defense in the name of Islam.

3. Misquoted verses of the Holy Quran were taken out of context. Please be reminded that those verses were recorded during the battles between the Prophet and his companions and those who wanted them killed as a sign of protest that there is only one God and that is dear Allah (swt).

4. Anti-Islam groups will always find discrepancy against Islam hence it would be best if you will ask a true believer of Islam before you assume that what you read against Islam is the sole truth. Give Muslims the chance to tell you the truth.

I say NO to war!

No to war!

My heart was in pain when I saw these displaced families in Pikit, North Cotabato.

War is hell. That is why I am fully supportive of the peace talks between the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Philippine government for we ought to be responsible in leaving a legacy of peace to our future Bangsamoro generation.

Why is peace elusive in my home province? If you care enough to know why there was Moro rebellion during the martial law period, then read the history of the Bangsamoro people. By knowing our history of oppression, bloody genocide and infringement of our rights and liberties in the 70s, then you will understand the reason why the Bangsamoro Muslims fought fearlessly for their rights.

Read and dig deeper to help you understand the conflict in Mindanao objectively. 🙂

This is Ginakit. A fluvial parade in Maguindanao province, in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), Philippines. This is usually a ceremonial event paying respect to the first Maguindanao Sultan, Shariff Mohammad Kabunsuan. It depicts the arrival of the great Shariff in the early 15th century. He preached Islam and established the Maguindanao Sultanate. He was my great great grandfather.

Sagayan is a Philippine war dance performed by both the Maguindanao and Maranao tribes of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao depicting in dramatic passion the steps of their hero, Prince Bantugan, who took upon wearing his armaments, the war he fought in and his subsequent victory afterwards.

Performers, depicting fierce warriors would carry shield with shell noisemakers in one hand and double-bladed sword in the other attempting rolling movements to defend their master.(Wikipedia)
